Are you like the majority of the population and forget to drink water throughout the day? Or perhaps you rather reach for juice or soda? Well, what if I told you water aid's in losing body fat; then would you drink more water? Let me explain!
It is 100% calorie-free! So for those of us #countingcalories, why add liquid calories to your diet? Save those numbers for yummy food to fuel your body.
Water helps you burn calories without having to do anything but swallow! This is called resting energy expenditure. Do we really care what its called? Heck no, we just care it helps us #loseweight! For example drinking 1/2 litre can burn an extra 23 calories (approx.)
Drinking water before a meal can also help to suppress your appetite! So put away those #dietpills, stop wasting your hard earned dollars and fill up your glass! And a little tip, if you tend to want to munch in the evening, drink a glass of water. You'll most likely find that you aren't actually hungry, but if you are then have a #healthy snack.
So how much water should we actually drink? Well the old age recommendation is 4-8 glasses of water. Of course that is just a general number and it all depends on the person. Those who sweat more, #exercise regularly, women who are breastfeeding and elderly persons should all increase their water intake.
My tips:
* Replace sugary drinks with water
* Drink when you are thirsty, have a headache, think you are hungry but it is not meal time
* Sip water during exercise, then rehydrate after.
So take home message...DRINK MORE WATER! Although it will not be the one thing that will cause you to drastically drop the pounds, it is most definitely an important piece of the puzzle.
